"Hi! I'm Joey."

From a very young age I realized my profound empathic nature and intuitive abilities. Friends, family, and strangers would find their way to me seeking comfort, love, guidance, and support. I could always feel deeply what others were feeling and felt everything was sacred in life. People seemed to be drawn to me, felt safe with me, and ultimately I believe they trusted me with the deepest parts of themselves. What an honor!

Education & Practice

Today, I am a Certified Life-Cycle Celebrant, Certified Grief Coach, and Certified Healing Touch Practitioner based in Rochester, MN. I offer ceremonies locally, grief coaching services online, and distance Healing Touch energy work. I earned my graduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Masters in Social Work. My undergraduate degrees, from Winona State University, MN are in Social Work and Music. I earned certifications from the Celebrant Foundation and Institute in Funerals, and in Ceremonies in Healing and Transition. I completed certification as a Grief Coach and B.R.E.A.T.H.E. Grief Program Facilitator. I am a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner through Healing Beyond Borders, and have trained in Reiki and as a Surgical Coaching Practitioner. As an intuitive empath and energy worker, I also enjoy guiding people through a transformative clothing process called Visible & Present™.

Experience

I always knew my purpose in life revolved around healing and being present with others. And after more than 25 years of working with families in hospice coping with end of life transitions, those affected by HIV/AIDS, domestic and sexual violence, chemical and mental health challenges, I know, without a doubt, that all real healing comes from heart-centered presence and love.

My Philosophy

There are many tools we can use, and paths we can take, but in the end they all lead us home! And the great news is that home is right here inside us. No one can take it away, and it holds all we will ever need. It is where our real power, freedom, and peace reside. It is my enormous privilege to meet others on this path of life, share my gifts and service with them, and help them remember their own unique way home.
